April 17 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close of trading.
The IGBC Index rose 0.3 percent to 15,180.66, while the Colcap Index increased 0.3 percent to 1,765.55.
Tableros & Maderas de Caldas SA (TABLEMA CB), a wood products maker, advanced 1.9 percent to 10.50 pesos. Investors are anticipating an increase in production after the opening of a new plant this month, said Carlos Eduardo Gonzalez, an analyst at brokerage Bolsa y Renta. Juan Fernando Vasquez, the company’s president, said a new medium-density fiberboards, or MDF, plant would have its first boards ready at the beginning of April in an interview published on March 27 by the daily El Colombiano.
Bolsa de Valores de Colombia SA (BVC CB), the operator of the country’s main stock exchange, increased 1.8 percent to 34.50 pesos. The company rose after saying net income increased 40 percent to 11.5 billion pesos ($6.5 million) in the first three months of the year on its website yesterday.
