April 12 (Bloomberg) -- GMP Capital Inc., Canada’s second-biggest independent brokerage, plans to appoint Donald A. Wright chairman after its annual shareholders’ meeting next month.
Wright, a former president of Merrill Lynch Canada and chief executive officer of Toronto-Dominion Bank’s TD Securities, has been on GMP’s board since 2004, the Toronto-based company said today in a statement.
Stanley M. Beck will retire from the board May 4, the day of GMP’s annual meeting, after serving more than eight years as chairman, the company said.
Canaccord Financial Inc. is the country’s biggest independent brokerage by assets.
