Eczacibasi to Invest 140 Million Euros in Wind Power, Dunya Says

April 12 (Bloomberg) -- Eczacibasi Holding AS, a Turkish company with interest in pharmaceuticals and building materials, plans to spend 140 million euros ($184 million) on a wind power plant in the country’s northwest, Dunya newspaper reported, citing Chief Executive Officer Erdal Karamercan.

Eczacibasi will join an existing project in Kocaeli province, and construction will start within a year, Karamercan said, according to Dunya. The plant will have 110 megawatts of capacity, he said.

Eczacibasi bought a 50 percent stake in Turkish power producer Erguvan Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS, the country’s antitrust body said in February.
