April 5 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 11:30 a.m. break in Ho Chi Minh City.
The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, gained 0.6 percent to 442.59. The VN-30 Index, a free-float adjusted, market capitalization-weighted index of 30 stocks that have the highest market value and liquidity on the bourse, increased 0.9 percent to 504.69.
Elcom Corp. (ELC VN), which offers telecommunications, information technology and electronics products, advanced for a fifth day, climbing 4.3 percent to 31,600 dong, poised for the highest since Sept. 28. The company will pay a 2011 dividend of 800 dong a share on May 10, according to a statement on the bourse’s website.
FPT Corp. (FPT VN), Vietnam’s biggest publicly traded telecommunications and software company, rose 2.6 percent to 59,500 dong, headed for the highest close since February 17, 2011. The company will pay 2011 dividend of 2,000 dong per share in the second quarter, it said in an exchange statement.
