Shangri-La Asia Said to Market Five-Year Dollar Bond Sale

March 28 (Bloomberg) -- Shangri-La Asia Ltd. plans to sell five-year U.S. dollar-denominated bonds, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The Reg S notes are being marketed to investors to yield about 400 basis points more than similar-maturity Treasuries, the person said, asking not to be identified because the details are private.

A telephone call and an e-mail to the offices of Shangri-La Asia’s Chief Financial Officer Madhu Rao seeking comment on the planned sale weren’t immediately returned.

Bank of China Ltd., Credit Agricole SA, HSBC Holdings Plc and Morgan Stanley are managing the sale which is expected to price today and be benchmark in size, the person said. Benchmark typically means at least $500 million.

Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Asia has the equivalent of $500 million in outstanding debt that matures before the end of 2016, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
