March 28 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close of trading.
The IPC index fell 0.1 percent to 38,910.68.
Grupo Pochteca SAB (POCHTECB MM), the chemical maker formerly known as Dermet de Mexico, jumped 7.5 percent to 2.14 pesos. The company said earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were 41 million pesos ($3.2 million) in the first quarter, according to preliminary results sent yesterday to the Mexican stock exchange. Preliminary first-quarter sales were 1 billion pesos.
Grupo Mexico SAB (GMEXICOB MM), the country’s largest mining company, declined 1.5 percent to 40.23 pesos. Copper declined in New York on signs that demand for the metal is weakening in China, the world’s biggest consumer.
Industrias Penoles SAB (PE&OLES* MM), the nation’s biggest silver producer and a miner of gold, fell 1.2 percent to 615.54 pesos. Gold futures fell as a strike by jewelers in India, the world’s biggest buyer, curbed demand. Silver also slumped.
