March 26 (Bloomberg) -- Oman’s benchmark MSM30 index tumbled 1.5 percent, the most since August, to 5,826.22 at the 1:00 p.m. close in Muscat. Qatar’s QE Index rose 0.3 percent.
The following shares were active in the Persian Gulf region. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
BankMuscat SAOG (BKMB OM) tumbled 3.2 percent, the most since March 18, to 0.577 rial after the country’s central bank cut interest rates on personal loans. Bank Dhofar SAOG slid 3.3 percent to 0.550 rial.
Qatar Navigation (QNNS QD) fell 1.5 percent, the most since March 5, to 75 riyals. The Qatari shipper known as Milaha said 2011 profit fell to 711 million riyals ($195 million) from 1.1 billion riyals a year earlier.
