March 24 (Bloomberg) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. will start letting its German employees rest on Sundays, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung reported, citing an interview with Alexander Dibelius, who runs the investment bank’s operations in the nation.
Dibelius said he decided to give bankers Sundays off in order to help Goldman stay competitive as an employer, according to an e-mailed preview of an article to be published tomorrow. Weekend work will only be required in extreme situations, the newspaper said.
“We aren’t machines,” the newspaper quoted Dibelius as saying.
