Syracuse Defeats Wisconsin 64-63 in NCAA Basketball Tournament

C.J. Fair scored 15 points and top-seeded Syracuse held on for a 64-63 victory against fourth-seeded Wisconsin to reach the East Regional final of the men’s national college basketball tournament.

Jordan Taylor, who had 17 points, six assists and four rebounds for Wisconsin (26-10), missed a long 3-pointer in the closing seconds of the National Collegiate Athletic Association game at the TD Garden in Boston.

Scoop Jardine had 14 points for Syracuse (34-2), which moved on to face Cincinnati or Ohio State in the regional final. Syracuse led by 10 points in the first half and by 33-27 at halftime.

“That’s the best game I’ve seen in a long time, that may be the best game we’ve played,” Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said in a televised interview. “I can’t tell you how good it feels to win, this was a great game.”

Jared Berggren added 17 points for Wisconsin, which went 14-for-27 on 3-pointers.
