March 23 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese investors were net sellers of foreign bonds during the week ended March 16 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors sold 721.5 billion yen ($8.7 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 57.8 billion yen in overseas stocks and sold 38.8 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net sale of 818.1 billion yen.
Foreign investors sold 1066.7 billion yen in Japanese bonds, bought 287.5 billion yen in stocks, and bought 1089.8 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net purchase of 310.5 billion yen.
