March 20 (Bloomberg) -- Egypt’s benchmark EGX 30 Index advanced 0.9 percent, the first gain since March 15, to 5,079.44 at the 2:30 p.m. close in Cairo.

Egyptian Resorts Co. (EGTS EY) slumped 4.3 percent, the biggest decrease since Dec. 20, to 1.34 Egyptian pounds. The resort developer said March 18 it reported a net loss in 2011 of 7.4 million pounds ($1.2 million).
El Kahera Housing (ELKA EY) rallied 4.3 percent, the most since Feb. 15, to 4.88 Egyptian pounds. The Cairo-based real-estate developer said its full-year net income advanced to 51.9 million pounds from 40.2 million pounds a year earlier.
