March 14 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Santiago.
The Ipsa index rose 0.5 percent to 4,551.50. The MSCI Chile index slid 0.2 percent to 2,606.09.
Banco de Chile (CHILE CC) advanced 1.3 percent to a record 79.49 pesos. Chile’s second-largest lender had net income of 80 billion pesos ($164 million) in the first two months of the year, according to a statement posted yesterday on its website. The bank had net income of 73.8 billion pesos in the same period last year.
Cia. Sud Americana de Vapores SA (VAPORES CC) jumped 11 percent to 50.24 pesos. Chile’s largest container shipping company reached a six-month high as gains in global freight rates signal a container-shipping industry recovery, German Guerrero, a partner at Santiago-based brokerage MBI Servicios Financieros, said in an interview.
Empresas Aquachile SA (AQUACHIL CC) advanced 2.1 percent to 411.01 pesos. The Chilean salmon exporter reported a 29 percent increase in 2011 revenue to $501 million, according to a statement posted on the website of Chile’s securities regulator.
