The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Santiago.
The Ipsa index rose 0.1 percent to 4,525.68. The MSCI Chile index fell 0.7 percent to 2,600.9.
Empresas Copec SA (COPEC CC) fell for a seventh day, losing 0.3 percent to 7,923.9 pesos. Chile’s largest pulp exporter reported an 8 percent decrease in full-year profit to $933 million from $1.01 billion a year earlier. That compares with the $988 million average estimate of six analysts in a Bloomberg survey.
Salfacorp SA (SALFACOR CC) dropped 2.2 percent to 1,369.6 pesos after three days of gains. Chile’s largest construction and engineering company had annual net income of 15.9 billion pesos ($33 million), a 28 percent fall from 22.1 billion pesos in 2010.
Sonda SA (SONDA CC) advanced 0.7 percent to 1,410.1 pesos and briefly reached a record high of 1,445 pesos. Chile’s largest software developer rose for a third day after announcing March 8 it completed its fifth acquisition in Brazil.
