March 9 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 3 p.m. local time.
The IPC index fell 0.3 percent to 37,691.01.
Homebuilders rose for a third day as investors met with the companies in New York amid optimism the government will support the industry with subsidies aimed at curbing a housing deficit.
Desarrolladora Homex SAB (HOMEX* MM), Mexico’s largest homebuilder, rose 2 percent to 39.87 pesos. Urbi Desarrollos Urbanos SAB (URBI* MM), Mexico’s third-largest homebuilder by sales, gained 1.5 percent to 14.72 pesos. Corp. Geo SAB (GEOB MM), Mexico’s second-largest homebuilder, jumped 4.3 percent to 20.15 pesos.
Industrias CH SAB (ICHB MM), Mexico’s largest steelmaker, rose 1.7 percent to 55.72 pesos. Under current conditions, Industrias CH may be added to the IPC in the next adjustment planned for September, according to a running tally of stocks that fit the criteria published yesterday by the exchange.
