Indonesia Stock Movers: Berau Coal, Holcim Indonesia, Medco

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Indonesian trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Jakarta.

The Jakarta Composite index fell for a third day, declining 0.6 percent to 3,942.52.

Metal producers: PT Aneka Tambang (ANTM IJ), Indonesia’s second-largest nickel producer, fell 2.6 percent to 1,850 rupiah. PT Timah (TINS IJ), the largest tin producer, lost 1.6 percent to 1,860 rupiah. Nickel futures fell 1.7 percent to $18,745 a metric ton in London yesterday and tin slumped 3.1 percent to $22,310 a ton.

PT Berau Coal Energy (BRAU IJ), a coal producer, rose 3.9 percent to 530 rupiah. Berau sold $500 million of five-year dollar bonds at a yield of 7.25 percent, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter, who declined to be identified because the details are private.

PT Holcim Indonesia (SMCB IJ), the nation’s third-biggest cement producer, increased 4.2 percent to 2,500 rupiah, the highest close since Nov. 9, 2010. Holcim’s net income last year rose to 1.06 trillion rupiah ($116 million), from 828 billion rupiah in 2010. The median estimate was for a net income of 1.01 trillion rupiah, according to a Bloomberg News survey of 19 analysts.

PT Medco Energi Internasional (MEDC IJ), Indonesia’s biggest listed oil company, dropped 2.2 percent to 2,275 rupiah. Crude futures fell to a two-week low yesterday, losing 1.9 percent to $104.70 a barrel in New York. Oil was last at $105.22 a barrel.
