Ethanol Production in U.S. Gains 1.1%, Energy Department Says

March 7 (Bloomberg) -- Ethanol production in the U.S. increased 1.1 percent to 906,000 barrels a day last week, rebounding from the lowest level since October.

Stockpiles surged for a 12th consecutive week to a record 22.1 million barrels, the department said in a report released in Washington today. Supply hasn’t fallen since Dec. 9.

Production of conventional gasoline blended with ethanol fell 2.7 percent to 5.1 million barrels a day, the department said, the lowest level since Feb. 10.

Denatured ethanol for April delivery fell 0.2 cents to $2.289 a gallon at 10:34 a.m. New York time on the Chicago Board of Trade.
