South Africa Approves 2 Billion-Rand Bio-Fuel Plant, Beeld Says

March 6 (Bloomberg) -- South Africa has approved tax incentives for a proposed 1.8 billion-rand ($238 million) bio-fuel plant that may start operating in 2014, Beeld reported, citing a statement by the Department of Trade and Industry.

The plant, situated at Cradock in the Eastern Cape province, will be majority-owned by the Industrial Development Corp. and will produce 100 million liters of bio-ethanol from sugar beet and sorghum, the Johannesburg-based newspaper reported.
