March 5 (Bloomberg) -- About 50 percent of the winter-wheat crop in Kansas, the biggest grower, was in good or excellent condition as of yesterday, down from 52 percent a week earlier, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.

In Oklahoma, 62 percent of the winter wheat got the top ratings, down from 67 percent the previous week, the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service said today on its website. In Texas, 33 percent of the winter wheat received the top ratings, improving from 31 percent a week earlier, the USDA said.
