Artem Anisimov gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the first period at Tampa Bay Times Forum. Marian Gaborik added a power-play goal two minutes, 43 seconds into the second period for a 2-0 lead.

Tom Pyatt narrowed the gap to 2-1 in second period, while Teddy Purcell and Steven Stamkos gave the Lightning (30-28-6, 66 points) a 3-2 lead midway through the final period.
