March 2 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies are having unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 1:05 p.m. Lima time.
The Lima General Index gained for the third session in four, rising 0.6 percent to 23,118.84. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index fell 0.2 percent to 2,891.54.
Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO PE), a Canadian gold miner, jumped 5.2 percent to $4.69 as investors bet the stock will gain following expansion work at the company’s Peruvian mine, said Jose Luis Bustamante, head of trading at Cartisa SAB.
Maple Energy Plc (MPLE PE), the oil and natural gas producer with operations in Peru, climbed 2.3 percent to $1.33 after announcing it secured $17.5 million in financing for an ethanol project.
Grana y Montero SA (GRAMONC1 PE), Peru’s largest construction firm known as GyM, gained 1.8 percent to a record 7.50 soles after the National Statistics Institute reported both public spending and cement sales rose on construction demand in January.
Ferreyros SA (FERREYC1 PE), the Lima-based distributor for Caterpillar Inc., rose for a fourth session, adding 1.3 percent to 3.03 soles, on rising demand for mining equipment, Bustamante said.
