Feb. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Reed Smith LLP, a 1,694-attorney Pittsburgh-based law firm, hired Harrison J. Dossick, a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, to help expand its entertainment industry practice.
Dossick, who has represented motion picture and television studios, distribution companies and content owners in disputes, currently represents Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and the Weinstein Co., distributor of the Academy Award-winning film “The Artist,” Reed Smith said in a statement.
“He has solid and long-standing relationships with some of the most prominent companies in the business and has handled practically every type of industry-related dispute, from copyright infringement and idea-theft claims to profit participation and accounting claims,” Michael S. Sherman, head of the firm’s entertainment practice in Los Angeles, said in the statement.
Dossick is joining Reed Smith as a partner in its commercial litigation group, practicing out of the firm’s Century City office in Los Angeles.
Reed Smith had revenue of $993 million in 2011, an increase of 3.7 percent from the previous year, according to Legal Week, a trade publication.
