Colombian Court Unseats Chief Prosecutor Morales, Tiempo Says

Feb. 29 (Bloomberg) -- A Colombian high court unseated the nation’s chief Prosecutor Viviane Morales after ruling she was elected with 14 instead of the 16 votes needed from the Supreme Court, newspaper El Tiempo said.

Colombia’s Supreme Court will need to elect a new prosecutor from three candidates picked by President Juan Manuel Santos, which can include Morales, the Bogota-based daily said, citing the court’s President Gustavo Gomez. Morales took office in January 2011.
