Klepierre, Nexity, Peugeot, Shell: Europe Equity Preview

Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in European trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Index retreated 0.5 percent to 266.78. The Stoxx 50 Index fell 0.3 percent to 2,510.88. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark measure for nations using the euro, declined 0.3 percent to 2,541.60.

Commerzbank AG (CBK GY): The Deutsche Schiffsbank unit of Germany’s second-largest lender plans to limit business relationships to customers deemed strategically important, Financial Times Deutschland reported. Commerzbank fell 0.6 percent to 2.14 euros.

Enel SA (ENEL IM): Italy’s biggest power company obtained a credit line of about 3 billion euros ($4 billion) to refinance a maturing facility, according to three people with direct knowledge of the deal. Enel rose 1.6 percent to 3.06 euros.

Klepierre SA (LI FP): BNP Paribas SA (BNP FP) is in talks to sell its 51 percent stake in France’s second-largest publicly traded owner of shopping centers to Norway’s Norges Bank, La Lettre de L’Expansion reported, without saying where it got the information. Klepierre rival Unibail-Rodamco SE (UL FP) is no longer a bidder for the stake, according to La Lettre.

Klepierre fell 2.9 percent to 23.54 euros. BNP advanced 0.8 percent to 37.46 euros. Unibail-Rodamco retreated 1.4 percent to 145 euros.

Nexity SA (NXI FP): The French real-estate services company forecast a “trough year” in 2012 for the new homes market and a slowdown for commercial real estate. The company’s full-year net income slumped to 54.2 million euros from 119.8 million euros in 2010, the company wrote in a statement. The shares fell 1.4 percent to 23.40 euros.

PSA Peugeot Citroen (UG FP): Europe’s second-biggest carmaker said it’s in talks about possible cooperations and alliances following a report in La Tribune that it’s discussing a pact with General Motors Co. (GM US). Peugeot declined 1 percent to 14.39 euros.

Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA LN): Europe’s largest oil company’s air pollution permits for offshore oil drilling in Alaska were challenged by environmental groups who said the permits violate the U.S. Clean Air Act. Shell gained 0.8 percent to 2,303.5 pence.

Telefonica SA (TEF SM): Spain’s biggest phone operator said it will sell its stake in satellite company Hispasat SA for 124 million euros ($164 million) to Abertis Telecom as it disposes of assets to reduce debt. The sale of the 13.23 percent holding to the telecommunications unit of Abertis Infraestructuras SA (ABE SM) is subject to government approval. Telefonica fell 0.6 percent to 13.18 euros. Abertis dropped 1.8 percent to 13.01 euros.
