Colombian Stocks: Colinversiones, Almacenes Exito, Ecopetrol

The following companies are having unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 9:55 a.m. Bogota time.

The IGBC Index rose 0.2 percent to 14,598.61, while the Colcap Index gained 0.2 percent to 1,703.92.

Almacenes Exito SA (EXITO CB), Colombia’s biggest publicly-traded retailer, rose 0.3 percent to 25,400 pesos.

The company said 2011 profit jumped 53 percent from a year ago to 389 billion pesos ($218 million). Sales increased 18 percent during the same period to 8.8 trillion pesos, according to an e-mailed statement yesterday.

Cia. Colombiana de Inversiones SA (COLINV CB), a Colombian electricity holding company, fell 2 percent to 4,700 pesos.

The company said 2011 profit dropped 41 percent from the year before to 153 billion pesos, according to a regulatory filing yesterday. It proposed a 2012 dividend of 90 pesos per share, a 10 percent increase from last year’s dividend, the filing said.

Ecopetrol SA (ECOPETL CB), Colombia’s largest oil company, gained 0.2 percent to 4,925 pesos. The company said it proposes to pay a dividend of 300 pesos per share in 2012, more than double the dividend paid last year, according to an e-mailed statement late yesterday.
