Chavez Speaks From Barinas After Reports of Health Problems

Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez spoke today for the first time since Feb. 17 after a columnist for El Universal said yesterday that he was in Cuba meeting with a team of doctors to determine whether he needed another operation due to his battle with cancer.

Chavez, speaking today on state television from his home state of Barinas, said that he was spending time with his family the last few days.
