England Beats Pakistan by Nine Wickets to Win One-Day Series

Feb. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Kevin Pietersen’s unbeaten century helped England beat Pakistan by nine wickets to win their one-day cricket series.

Pietersen scored 111 as England reached its target of 223 in 37.2 overs. Captain Alastair Cook had 80 as England finished 226-1 to take an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the four-game series.

Steve Finn and Stuart Broad claimed three wickets each as Pakistan was bowled out for 222. Shahid Afridi top-scored for Pakistan with 51 and Umar Akmal scored 50.

The series concludes in Dubai in three days before the teams play three Twenty20 games. Pakistan swept the earlier Test series 3-0.
