Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Belarus expects to produce 8.8 million metric tons of grain this year, Belta cited Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich as saying at a cabinet meeting in Minsk today.
Myasnikovich also predicted a 4.3 million-ton sugar-beet harvest, the news agency said. The forecasts compare with output last year of 8.4 million tons of grain and 4.5 million tons of beets, according to the state statistics committee.
