Hungary’s Orban Rejects State Help on Municipal Debt, Origo Says

Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban rejected central government aid to help municipalities in servicing their foreign-currency debt, news website Origo reported today, citing unidentified ruling-party officials.

The government “has hit banks enough,” Orban said at a closed-door meeting of the ruling Fidesz party’s parliament deputies, adding that the Cabinet doesn’t want to start another conflict with banks, Origo reported.
