Feb. 7 (Bloomberg) -- One coal miner was killed and nine were hospitalized after an explosion at Pivnichna mine near Dzerzhynsk city in eastern Ukraine, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.
The blast occurred at 10:56 p.m. Kiev time yesterday, the ministry, based in capital Kiev, said in a statement on its website. The mine, operated by state company Dzerzhynskvuhillya, is closed as the ministry investigates what caused the blast, according to the statement.
