Turkish Stocks: Akfen Holding, Cimsa, TAV Move in Istanbul

Turkey’s benchmark ISE National 100 Index fell for the first time in five days, losing 0.2 percent to 60,545.87 at the close in Istanbul.

The following were among the active equities in the Turkish market today. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Akfen Holding AS (AKFEN TI), a builder with a 26 percent stake in airport operator TAV Havalimanlari Holding AS (TAVHL TI), rose as much as 2.7 percent before closing 0.2 percent higher at 9.02 liras after Akfen Chairman Hamdi Akin denied reports that Vinci SA of France, Carlyle Group LP and the Qatar Investment Authority placed bids for TAV. Akfen and partner Tepe will receive bids for TAV on Feb. 17 or Feb. 21, Akin said. TAV dropped 1.4 percent to 8.36 liras.

Cimsa Cimento Sanayi & Ticaret AS (CIMSA TI), a Turkish cement maker, climbed 1.6 percent to 8.80 liras, after Mehmet Gocmen, head of Haci Omer Sabanci Holding AS’s cement group, told a press conference Cimsa and Akcansa Cimento Sanayi & Ticaret AS, another Turkish cement maker, are looking at acquisitions.
