Feb. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei.
The Taiex Index fell 0.7 percent to 7,687.98, snapping eight days of gains.
China Airlines Ltd. (2610 TT) gained 1.7 percent to NT$14.65, the highest close since Nov. 8. EVA Airways Corp. (2618 TT) climbed 2.9 percent, the highest close since Nov. 8. Taiwan and China have started exchanging views on an open skies pact, Economic Daily News reported, citing Minister of Transportation and Communications Mao Chi-kuo.
MediaTek Inc. (2454 TT) lost 2.4 percent to NT$285. January consolidated sales dropped 31 percent from a year earlier to NT$5.16 billion, according to a statement on its website.
Radiant Opto-electronics Corp. (6176 TT) retreated 4.3 percent to NT$111.50, the biggest decline since Jan. 2. The liquid-crystal display backlight component maker said January sales fell 36 percent from a year ago to NT$197.43 million, according to a statement filed to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
