Connecticut Women End Duke’s Home Winning Streak in Basketball

The University of Connecticut ended Duke University’s 34-game home winning streak in women’s college basketball with a 61-45 victory.

The Huskies (20-2) and Blue Devils (17-3) are among the top five teams in the country, according to the Associated Press poll. Connecticut is No. 3 and Duke is No. 5.

Bria Hartley scored 15 points and Caroline Doty added 11 points last night for the Huskies. Chelsea Gray had 13 points, seven rebounds, six assists and six steals for Duke, which had an 11-game overall winning streak snapped.

It was the first loss for Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina, since an 81-48 defeat by Connecticut on Jan. 18, 2010.
