Jan. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Europe’s chemical industry produced 3.2 percent less in November, even as prices rose, the European Chemical Industry Council industry group said.
The drop in production was led by petrochemicals which fell 7.5 percent with specialties and polymers declining 6.8 percent and 6.5 percent respectively, Brussels-based Cefic said in an e-mailed statement today. Consumer chemicals gained 4.5 percent.
Prices in November climbed with basic inorganics rising 12 percent and petrochemicals gaining 7.2 percent, Cefic said.
