Jan. 30 (Bloomberg) -- AC Milan beat Cagliari 3-0 yesterday to remain within one point of leader Juventus in Italian soccer’s Serie A. Real Madrid stretched its lead in Spain’s La Liga this weekend to seven points.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic got his league-leading 15th goal of the season to open the scoring at the San Siro for defending champion Milan. Antonio Nocerino and Massimo Ambrosini also scored, a day after two goals from Alessandro Matri lifted Juventus to a 2-0 win against third-place Udinese -- which is now five points behind Milan.
Inter Milan missed an opportunity to join Udinese on 38 points after it suffered a 1-0 loss at Lecce and drops to fifth after Lazio beat Chievo 3-0.
Among other games yesterday, Roma tied 1-1 against Bologna, Genoa defeated Napoli 3-2 and Palermo beat Novara 2-0.
Real Madrid rallied from a goal behind to beat bottom club Real Zaragoza 3-1 two days ago with strikes from Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil at the Bernabeu, as Barcelona was held to a 0-0 draw at Villarreal.
Yesterday, third-place Valencia was held to a 2-2 draw at Racing Santander. Osasuna hosts Atletico Madrid today.
Three teams remain tied on points atop Germany’s Bundesliga, with Borussia Moenchengladbach one point back after it won 3-0 at Stuttgart yesterday.
Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke all have 40 points from 19 matches. Two days ago, Bayern beat Wolfsburg 2-0, Dortmund defeated Hoffenheim 3-1, while Schalke won 4-1 at Cologne.
In yesterday’s French matches, Marseille won 2-1 at Rennes, Evian and Bordeaux tied 0-0, and AC Ajaccio beat Valenciennes 2-1. Paris Saint-Germain maintained its three-point lead with a 1-0 victory against Brest two days ago, while second-place Montpellier beat Nice 1-0.
PSV Eindhoven leads Dutch soccer’s Eredivisie by two points after it beat Vitesse Arnhem 3-1 on Jan. 27. AZ Alkmaar, the previous leader, lost 2-0 at Roda JC two days ago and is tied on points with FC Twente, which yesterday beat Groningen 4-1.
Ajax lost ground with the leaders following a 4-2 loss at Feyenoord.
