Yankees Re-Sign Five-Time All-Star Andruw Jones for One Year

The New York Yankees re-signed five-time All-Star outfielder Andruw Jones to a one-year deal, the club announced today in an e-mailed release.

Jones, 34, batted .247 with 27 runs and 13 home runs in 77 Major League Baseball games last season, his first in New York. The 16-year veteran played the first 12 years of his career with the Atlanta Braves before one-year stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and Yankees.

Jones won 10 Gold Glove awards for defense during his time in Atlanta.

Financial terms of the agreement weren’t announced.
