Jan. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Top-ranked Novak Djokovic beat David Ferrer 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 to complete the Australian Open semifinals lineup, which will feature the top four men.
Defending champion Djokovic of Serbia will face Andy Murray in two days for a place in the Jan. 29 title match at Melbourne Park. The fourth-seeded Briton earlier beat Kei Nishikori of Japan in straight sets.
No. 2 seed Rafael Nadal of Spain and third-seeded Roger Federer of Switzerland will play their semifinal tomorrow.
Women’s No. 4 seed Maria Sharapova beat Ekaterina Makarova to set up a rematch of the 2011 Wimbledon final against second-seeded Petra Kvitova, who defeated the unseeded Sara Errani. Both women’s semifinals are scheduled for tomorrow, with the championship match on Jan. 28.
