49ers Lead Giants 7-0 in First Quarter of NFC Championship Game

Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) -- The San Francisco 49ers scored on a 73-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Alex Smith to Vernon Davis to lead the New York Giants 7-0 in the first quarter of the National Football Conference championship game.

The winner will play the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl in Indianapolis on Feb. 5. New England beat Baltimore 23-20 in the American Football Conference title game today.

Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff missed a 32-yard field goal that would have tied the game with 11 seconds to play. Tom Brady scored the go-ahead touchdown for New England on a 1-yard run with 4 minutes, 21 seconds left at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
