Jan. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Schalke beat Stuttgart 3-1 to tie Bayern Munich for the lead in German soccer’s Bundesliga.
Schalke and Bayern, which lost last night 3-1 to Monchengladbach, have 37 points. Dortmund is three points back and can pull even by winning at Hamburg tomorrow.
Juventus beat Atalanta 2-0 to increase its lead in Italy’s Serie A to four points over defending champion AC Milan, while Roma beat Cessena 5-1. Francesco Totti scored twice to give him 221 goals for Roma, breaking former AC Milan striker Gunnar Nordahl’s record for most goals with a single club in Italy.
Celtic beat St. Mirren 2-0 to move four points ahead in the Scottish Premier League over Rangers, which tied Aberdeen 1-1. Celtic has won 12 straight league matches.
