Allied Says Disasters Cost Up to $65 Million, Led by Thailand

Allied World Assurance Company Holdings AG, the insurer whose co-founders include American International Group Inc. and Chubb Corp., said catastrophes cost the firm $55 million to $65 million the fourth quarter.

The sum includes as much as $50 million in costs from flooding in Thailand, the Zug, Switzerland-based company said today in a statement distributed by PR Newswire.
