Jan. 16 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 4:10 p.m. Lima time.
The Lima General Index rose for the fifth session in six, gaining 0.6 percent to 20,592.42. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index climbed 0.1 percent to 2,638.59.
Mining and industrial shares rose after commodities advanced, with copper rising 1 percent in London, said Francisco Miranda, an analyst at Lima-based investment fund NC&F Inversiones SA.
Panoro Minerals Ltd. (PML PE), a Canadian gold and copper exploration company, jumped 12 percent to 55 cents after M Partners analyst Marc Johnson rated the share a new “Buy.” Candente Copper Corp. (DNT PE), a Canadian exploration company, rose 5.2 percent to $1.02. Ferreyros SA (FERREYC1 PE), the Lima-based distributor for Caterpillar Inc., climbed 2.1 percent to 2.43 soles. Maple Energy Plc (MPLE PE), the oil and natural gas producer with operations in Peru, advanced 1.7 percent to $1.20 after crude gained in electronic trading in New York.
Sugar producers rose as white sugar rose in London. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca SA (POMALCC1 PE), a unit of Grupo Oviedo, advanced 2 percent to 51 centimos. Casa Grande (CASAGRC1 PE), Peru’s largest sugar producer and a unit of Gloria SA, climbed 1.7 percent to 15.75 soles.
