Jan. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Argentina’s national soccer team will play an exhibition game against Brazil on June 9 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Brazil is the sixth-ranked team in the world, while Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, who yesterday was named soccer’s best player for a record third consecutive time, is 10th, according to FIFA, the sport’s international governing body.
Argentina this year also will play exhibitions against Saudi Arabia, Switzerland and Germany, according to a statement on the national team’s website. It didn’t say which players would participate.
Mark Lamping, chief executive officer of the company that oversees MetLife Stadium, declined to comment. The stadium also will host the 2014 Super Bowl,
