Manchester United Beats Rival Manchester City 3-2 in F.A. Cup

Jan. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Manchester United beat archrival Manchester City 3-2 today to reach the fourth round of English soccer’s F.A. Cup.

Wayne Rooney scored twice at the Etihad Stadium as United eliminated the defending champion. City had captain Vincent Kompany red-carded after 12 minutes.

Danny Welbeck also scored for the Red Devils, with Aleksandar Kolarov and Sergio Aguero getting City’s goals.

In today’s other matches, Chelsea hosts Portsmouth, Sunderland is at Peterborough, while Sheffield Wednesday is at home against West Ham.
