Jan. 7 (Bloomberg) -- New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson said in a radio interview he’s considering retirement from the National Football League.
Tomlinson, 32, told San Diego radio station XX1090AM yesterday the main reason he’d return for a 12th season was to win a championship.
“It’s the first time in my playing career I actually, honestly thought this may be it for me,” Tomlinson said in the interview posted on the station’s website
Tomlinson rushed for 280 yards and one touchdown and had 42 catches for 449 yards and two scores in his second season with the Jets, who missed the playoffs. The fifth-leading rusher in NFL history with 13,684 yards, he spent his first nine seasons with the San Diego Chargers.
