Jan. 1 (Bloomberg) -- The wife of Braves head athletic trainer Jeff Porter was killed yesterday when the family’s sport utility vehicle collided with a Georgia State Patrol cruiser, the team said on its website.
Kathy Porter, 54, was killed. Porter and his 19-year-old son David were treated for injuries.
“The Braves family is deeply saddened and shocked to learn about the tragic accident involving the family of head athletic trainer Jeff Porter and the death of his wife, Kathy,” the team said.
Porter, who joined the Braves in 1985, has been head athletic trainer since 2003.
