Ukraine’s Grain Exports Fell 9.3% in December, Researcher Says

Ukraine’s grain exports declined 9.3 percent in the first 26 days of December compared with the previous month, agriculture researcher UkrAgroConsult said, citing information from market operators.

Exports fell to 1.65 million metric tons compared with 1.82 million tons in the same period a month earlier, the researcher said in an e-mailed statement today.

Corn shipments accounted for 1.22 million tons and went to Egypt, Spain, Iran and Israel. About 380,000 tons of wheat was exported to Spain, Thailand and Israel. December exports also included 38,300 tons of barley, which went to Syria and Libya.

Another 114,400 tons of wheat, 44,000 tons of barley and 765,000 tons of corn are expected to be shipped in the near future, the researcher said.
