Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close of trading.
The IPC index rose 0.1 percent to 36,054.63.
Housing and construction companies rose as Mexico economists estimated the economy will grow 3.9 percent this year and that the annual inflation rate will be 3.53 percent at the end of 2011, according to a monthly central bank survey published today.
Desarrolladora Homex SAB (HOMEX* MM), Mexico’s largest homebuilder, led gains in the Bolsa, jumping 6.6 percent to 34.66 pesos. Cemex SAB (CEMEXCPO MM), the largest cement maker in the Americas, advanced 4.8 percent to 6.83 pesos, and Empresas ICA SAB (ICA* MM), Mexico’s biggest construction company, rose 3.2 percent to 17.97 pesos.
Industrias Penoles SAB (PE&OLES* MM), Mexico’s largest silver producer, added 2.8 percent to 606.41 pesos as silver futures for March delivery gained as much as 2.2 percent to $29.93 an ounce on the Comex in New York.
