NBA OKs Chris Paul Trade From Hornets to Los Angeles Clippers

Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Chris Paul was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers six days after the National Basketball Association rejected a deal that would have sent the All-Star guard to the Los Angeles Lakers, who share a home arena with the Clippers.

In exchange for Paul and two second-round draft picks in 2015, the league-owned New Orleans Hornets said in a news release that they will get guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and a 2012 first-round draft pick.

“We wanted to make sure that we got the best possible deal for a player of Chris’ caliber, and we feel great about the outcome,” Hornets Chairman Jac Sperling said in a statement released by the team.

NBA Commissioner David Stern on Dec. 8 vetoed a deal that would have sent Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers.
