Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Vale SA’s discussions with the Brazilian government over 4 billion reais ($2.14 billion) in unpaid taxes were extended 60 days, newspaper Estado said on its website.
The Sao Paulo-based newspaper cited Ildeumar Dias da Fonseca, chief of cabinet at Brazil’s National Mineral Production Department, known as DNPM, in the tax dispute story.
The DNPM’s press office in Brasilia today didn’t immediately respond to two telephone calls and an e-mail seeking comment.
