Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The pound extended an advance against the euro, trading at less than 84 pence versus the 17-nation currency for the first time since Feb. 22.
Sterling appreciated 0.3 percent to 83.93 pence per euro at 8:29 a.m. London time. It advanced 0.3 percent to $1.5517.
