Nuggets Re-Sign Nene to $67 Million, Five-Year Deal, ESPN Says

Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The Denver Nuggets re-signed center Nene to a five-year deal worth as much as $67 million, ESPN reported, citing an unidentified person close to the talks.

The deal will pay Nene, who was pursued by teams including the New Jersey Nets, Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers, $13.5 million on average over the next five seasons, ESPN said.

In 527 games over nine National Basketball Association seasons with the Nuggets, the 29-year-old Brazilian has averaged 12.3 points and seven rebounds.

The Nuggets yesterday acquired Rudy Fernandez and Corey Brewer from the Dallas Mavericks for a future second-round pick.
